Ingredients
2 large yellow onions
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup grated Asiago cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
2 teaspoons fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter or olive oil.
2. Peel and halve the onions, then slice them into thick rounds.
3. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onions in olive oil or butter for 5–7 minutes until they begin to caramelize.
4. Transfer the onions to the baking dish, layering slightly overlapping. Add thyme evenly across the top.
