Ingredients

500g shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon fresh parsley or thyme, chopped

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

3 cups mashed potatoes (prepared with butter and cream)

Instructions

1. Peel and devein shrimp, then pat dry and season with salt and pepper.

2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.

3. Sear the shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until just cooked through. Remove and set aside.

4. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

5. Pour in heavy cream and stir in Parmesan cheese. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes to thicken.

6. Return the shrimp to the skillet, add herbs, and cook for another 2 minutes on low heat.

7. Prepare mashed potatoes with butter, cream, and a pinch of salt until smooth and fluffy.

8. Plate the mashed potatoes, top with creamy garlic shrimp, and garnish with herbs and red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice to the sauce before serving.

Use Yukon Gold potatoes for the creamiest mashed texture.

Don’t overcook the shrimp—they should be pink and slightly curled, not tight or rubbery.
