Ingredients
16 oz French bread, cubed and dried
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 large yellow onion, finely chopped
3 celery stalks, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
2 cups vegetable or chicken broth
1 large egg, beaten
Instructions
1. Cube the French bread into 1-inch pieces and let them sit out overnight to dry, or bake at 300°F for 20 minutes until crisp but not browned.
2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and celery, and cook until softened, about 8 minutes.
3. Stir in the garlic, sage, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook another 2 minutes until fragrant.
4. In a large bowl, add the dried bread cubes and pour the sautéed mixture over the top. Toss to coat evenly. Add the chopped parsley.
5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the broth and beaten egg. Pour over the bread mixture and gently toss until evenly moistened.
6. Transfer the stuffing into a buttered 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.
7. Uncover and bake for another 20 minutes until the top is golden brown and crisp.

Notes
Make sure the bread is completely dried before adding broth to avoid sogginess.
