Ingredients

1.5 pounds steak (picanha, ribeye, or sirloin)

4 cloves garlic minced

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)


Instructions

1. Pat the steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper. Let rest at room temperature for 20 minutes.

2. Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over high heat until shimmering.

3. Sear the steak for 3–4 minutes per side until a golden-brown crust forms. Reduce heat and cook to preferred doneness.

4. Remove the steak and let rest while preparing the sauce.
