Ingredients

2 filet mignon steaks

8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small shallot, finely chopped

1 cup mushrooms, sliced

1/2 cup lobster stock or seafood stock

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

1. Pat the filet mignon steaks dry and season with salt and pepper.

2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Set aside to rest.

3. In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

4. Reduce heat. Add remaining butter, garlic, and shallots. Sauté until fragrant.

5. Add mushrooms and cook until browned and tender.

6. Pour in lobster stock and bring to a simmer.

7. Stir in heavy cream and crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer until slightly thickened.

8. Return shrimp to the sauce and cook for 1 more minute.

9. Plate the filet mignon and spoon the shrimp and sauce over the top.

10. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Always rest your steak after cooking to retain its juices.

Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.

Use fresh lobster stock for the most flavorful sauce, or substitute with seafood stock.
