Description

This Ultimate Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake is a cozy, crowd-pleasing dessert that tastes like a bakery-style cheesecake but comes together with simple pantry ingredients. It’s the perfect treat when you need quick breakfast or brunch options, fun dessert after an easy dinner, or sweet food ideas to share at potlucks and parties. With layers of gooey strawberries, tangy cheesecake, and buttery cake mix, this easy recipe fits right in with your favorite breakfast ideas, dinner ideas, and healthy snack-style treats for when you just want something special from the oven.

Ingredients

2 cans (21 ounces each) strawberry pie filling

1 cup sliced fresh strawberries (plus extra for garnish, optional)

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.

2. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish and scatter the sliced fresh strawberries on top.

3. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt together until smooth and creamy.

4. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry layer, then gently spread or swirl it so there is cheesecake in every bite without fully mixing it into the berries.

5. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer, covering the surface without stirring.

6. Slowly drizzle the melted butter over the dry cake mix, moistening as much of the surface as possible while leaving a few dry spots.

7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the strawberry filling is bubbling around the edges.

8. Remove from the oven and let the dump cake cool for 20–30 minutes so the layers can set before serving with whipped cream, extra strawberries, and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened so it blends smoothly and doesn’t leave lumps in the cheesecake layer.

For a crisper topping, bake a few extra minutes until the surface is deeply golden and allow the cake to cool longer before slicing.

To add variety, replace one can of strawberry pie filling with another berry pie filling, but keep at least one strawberry can for classic flavor.
