Description

Make your holiday dessert table sparkle with these Chocolate Pretzel Trees, a quick no-bake Christmas treat made with crunchy pretzels, smooth melted chocolate, and festive sprinkles. This easy recipe is perfect for Christmas snacks, holiday food ideas, kid-friendly desserts, edible gifts, party treats, and simple dessert ideas when you want something cute, sweet, salty, and fun without turning on the oven.

Ingredients

18 mini pretzel sticks for trunks

90 mini pretzel sticks or pretzel pieces for branches

1 1/2 cups candy melts or white chocolate

1 teaspoon coconut oil or shortening

2 tablespoons gold sprinkles or nonpareils

18 edible star toppers

1 tablespoon sanding sugar, optional

Instructions

1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and make sure it fits in your refrigerator.

2. Arrange one pretzel stick vertically for each tree trunk.

3. Place pretzel sticks or pretzel pieces diagonally across each trunk, making the bottom wider and the top narrower.

4. Melt the candy melts or white chocolate in 20-second microwave intervals, stirring until smooth.

5. Stir in coconut oil or shortening if the chocolate is too thick to pipe.

6. Transfer the melted chocolate to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a tiny corner cut off.

7. Pipe chocolate in a zigzag pattern over each pretzel tree, making sure it touches the pretzels so the tree holds together.

8. Add sprinkles, sanding sugar, and one edible star topper while the chocolate is still soft.

9. Chill the tray for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the trees are firm.

10. Carefully lift the trees from the parchment paper and serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

Use candy melts for the firmest finish and easiest piping.

Decorate in small batches so the sprinkles and stars stick before the chocolate sets.

Store the trees in a cool, dry place with parchment paper between layers to protect the decorations.
