Description

Meet your new go-to side dish: crispy garlic bread that’s golden on the outside, soft inside, and ready in minutes—perfect when you need a quick breakfast toast upgrade, an easy dinner side, or a cozy healthy snack to share. If you’re hunting for breakfast ideas, dinner ideas, or a trusty easy recipe to keep in your collection of food ideas, this buttery garlicky baguette will never let you down.

Ingredients

1 large French baguette

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Slice the baguette into about 12 even pieces, cutting on a slight diagonal for larger slices.

3. In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, olive oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth and well mixed.

4. Arrange bread slices on the prepared baking sheet and spread a generous layer of garlic butter over each one, all the way to the edges.

5. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the bottoms feel crisp.

6. Switch the oven to broil and toast the bread for 1–2 minutes more for extra crispiness, watching closely so the garlic doesn’t burn.

7. Remove from the oven, garnish with extra parsley or Parmesan if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

Day-old baguette works best because it holds its shape and crisps up without getting soggy.

Adjust the amount of garlic to taste—add more for a stronger flavor or reduce it for a milder version.

Reheat leftovers in a hot oven or air fryer for a few minutes to bring back the crunch; avoid the microwave so the bread doesn’t turn chewy.
