Ingredients
8 slices Cuban bread or soft white sandwich bread
8 ounces roast pork, sliced or shredded
8 ounces deli ham
8 slices Swiss cheese
12 dill pickle slices
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
2 tablespoons softened butter
Instructions
1. Slice the bread and spread the yellow mustard on the inside of each piece.
2. Layer ham, roast pork, Swiss cheese, and pickles evenly over four bread slices.
3. Top with the remaining bread slices and butter the outside of each sandwich.
4. Heat a skillet, grill pan, or sandwich press over medium heat.
5. Press the sandwiches and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until the bread is golden and crisp and the cheese is melted.
6. Rest for 1 minute, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Use bread that crisps well without being too hard, so the sandwich presses neatly.
Warm roast pork slightly before assembling for faster, more even heating.
Reheat leftovers in a skillet or air fryer instead of the microwave to keep the bread crisp.
