Deviled Egg Christmas Trees

  • Author: Sally Roberts
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 deviled eggs

Description

Start your holiday party with a showstopping appetizer—Deviled Egg Christmas Trees! This easy recipe transforms classic deviled eggs into festive, edible Christmas trees using a vibrant avocado-herb filling and curly kale. It’s the perfect combination of charm, creativity, and taste—ideal for quick holiday snacks, easy recipes, or fun food ideas for gatherings and dinner parties.

Ingredients

6 large eggs

1 ripe avocado

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped

salt and black pepper to taste

1 cup curly kale, chopped finely

paprika and star-shaped carrot or red bell pepper pieces

Instructions

1. Place the eggs in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath and let cool before peeling.

2. Slice the cooled, peeled eggs in half lengthwise. Scoop out the yolks and set the whites aside on a serving tray.

3. In a bowl, mash the yolks with avocado, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag.

4. Add a small pile of chopped curly kale into each egg white. Pipe the green filling in a spiral pattern on top of the kale to resemble a Christmas tree.

5. Garnish each with paprika and a star-shaped carrot or bell pepper topper. Chill before serving.

Notes

Use older eggs (about a week old) for easier peeling.

For a cleaner presentation, pipe the filling just before serving.

You can prep components ahead but assemble close to serving time for best freshness.
