Description

Golden, saucy, and packed with flavor, these Oven-Baked Dumplings with Peanut Sauce are an easy recipe for busy nights, quick dinner ideas, party appetizers, and cozy food ideas when you want something satisfying without frying. Frozen dumplings bake until tender inside and lightly crisp outside, then get finished with a creamy peanut sauce made with soy sauce, lime, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and a touch of chili heat.

Ingredients

20 frozen dumplings

1 tablespoon neutral oil

1/3 cup creamy peanut butter

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon chili crisp or 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

3 to 5 tablespoons warm water

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or cilantro

2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with oil.

2. Arrange the frozen dumplings in a single layer on the baking sheet, leaving space between each one.

3. Brush or drizzle the dumplings with neutral oil so the tops and edges can turn golden.

4. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, flipping halfway through if desired, until the dumplings are hot in the center and lightly browned.

5. While the dumplings bake, whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, lime juice, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and chili crisp.

6. Add warm water one tablespoon at a time until the peanut sauce is smooth and pourable.

7. Taste the sauce and adjust with extra lime juice, soy sauce, honey, or chili crisp if needed.

8. Transfer the baked dumplings to a serving dish and spoon the peanut sauce over the top.

9. Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped parsley or cilantro, and sliced green onions. Serve warm.

Notes

Use sturdy frozen potstickers or gyoza for the best texture, and do not thaw them before baking.

Add the warm water to the peanut sauce slowly so it stays creamy instead of becoming too thin.

For the crispiest edges, sauce the dumplings right before serving instead of letting them sit too long.
