Description

Savoury Mince is a quick dinner packed with rich beefy flavor, tender vegetables, and a smooth savory gravy that makes it perfect for easy dinner nights, family dinner ideas, and comforting food ideas. This easy recipe is simple enough for busy evenings, hearty enough for a satisfying meal, and versatile enough to serve over mash, rice, or toast when you need reliable dinner ideas fast.

Ingredients

500 g ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 medium carrots, diced small

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons tomato paste

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups beef stock

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup frozen peas

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and carrots, then cook for 4 to 5 minutes until softened.

2. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.

4. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to deepen the flavor.

5. Sprinkle in the flour and stir well so it coats the meat and vegetables evenly.

6. Slowly pour in the beef stock while stirring to keep the sauce smooth.

7. Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper, then bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

8. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the carrots are tender and the gravy thickens.

9. Stir in the peas and cook for 2 to 3 minutes more until heated through.

10. Finish with fresh parsley and serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or toast.

Notes

Use lean ground beef for a rich flavor without making the sauce too greasy.

Add a splash of extra stock at the end if you want a looser gravy for serving over rice or toast.

This dish tastes even better the next day, so it is great for meal prep and leftovers.
