Description

This Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake is an easy dessert that bakes into layers of sweet strawberry filling, creamy cheesecake pockets, and buttery golden cake topping. It is a quick dessert, easy recipe, party dessert, potluck dessert, holiday dessert, and sweet food idea for anyone who loves strawberry cheesecake flavor without making a traditional cheesecake.

Ingredients

2 cans strawberry pie filling, 21 ounces each

2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 box yellow cake mix, 15.25 ounces

3/4 cup unsalted butter, thinly sliced or melted

2 cups whipped cream, optional for serving

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.

3. Scatter the sliced fresh strawberries over the filling and drizzle with lemon juice.

4. Stir the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract together until mostly smooth.

5. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry layer.

6. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit and cream cheese.

7. Arrange thin slices of butter over the cake mix, or drizzle melted butter evenly over the top.

8. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until the filling is bubbling and the topping is golden.

9. Let the dump cake rest for 15 minutes before serving.

10. Serve warm or chilled with whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

Use very soft cream cheese so it mixes easily and creates smoother cheesecake pockets.

Cover the cake mix as evenly as possible with butter to avoid dry powdery spots on top.

Let the dessert rest before serving so the strawberry filling thickens and the cheesecake layer settles.
