A hearty, easy dinner recipe that’s family-approved and freezer-friendly, perfect for dinner ideas or cozy food ideas.

Ingredients

12 oz egg noodles

24 cooked Swedish meatballs

4 tbsp unsalted butter

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 1/2 cups beef broth

1 cup sour cream

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Boil egg noodles in salted water according to package instructions until just al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a large skillet, melt unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.

3. Gradually whisk in beef broth, making sure there are no lumps. Let the sauce thicken.

4. Reduce heat and stir in sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2 minutes.

5. Add drained noodles and meatballs into the sauce. Stir gently to combine.

6. Transfer mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.

7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top.

8. Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden.

9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Do not overcook noodles before baking or they’ll turn mushy.

Let the sauce thicken before adding sour cream to avoid curdling.

For extra depth, add a pinch of nutmeg or garlic powder to the sauce.
